Work from John Gutmann…. I don’t know how I haven’t heard of him before. I thought it was worth sharing some of his shots, I hope you enjoy them as I have:
“Crossing the Ohio River” from The Bikeriders by Danny Lyon
I think this will forever be one of the sexiest photographs of all time. Seriously. Everything about this shot is so perfect.
I’m still kicking myself for not going to the Lyon exhibition they had a little while ago in Champaign. Stupid.

This video lays out the comedic truth of writing an artist statement.
Those of you that are forced to write these atrocities might get a laugh, and those of you that don’t, I hope you see the struggle visual artists have to go through to explain their natural impulses.

Hopefully this cute little albino pup gets some quality care and love from it’s rescuers.

Seal pup found and photographed by Anatoly Strakhov.
“Tamara Cooper, head of the animal care team at the National Seal Sanctuary in Gweek, Cornwall, said: ‘It’s certainly unusual, but there are many colour variations within seal species.
‘There’s no denying it’s rare to see seal pups with such pale features and blue eyes. It’s not a species I’ve seen before.’
Luckily, Anatoly was with staff from a dolphinarium who have now taken the seal into their care.”

Glad to see that there is a new daring face out in the wild. Steven Backshall is hosting a new show on Nat Geo titled “Deadly 60.” It follows Steve around the world in search of the 60 deadliest animals. Now that’s something I would be interested in watching… if I had cable that is. I guess he has had shows on BBC… but I had never heard of him. I hope this guy sticks around a while, just may be the next Steve Irwin.
